Suffolk Credit Union Awards College Scholarships to Local Students

Dedicated to empowering families and strengthening Long Island communities, Suffolk Credit Union awarded $17,000 in scholarships to eight Suffolk County Community College students this fall. 

“Our partnership with the Suffolk Community College Foundation continues to open doors for students pursuing higher education,” said Laura Racioppi, Vice President of Corporate and Community Partnerships. “By investing in these scholarships, we’re helping motivated students and their families build lasting financial well-being and brighter futures.”  

Margaret Bacon of Islip received the Michael E. Reilly Memorial Scholarship for $3,000. Suffolk Credit Union Achievement Scholarships for Full-Time Students, New Students, and Continuing Students, as well as partial awards of $2,000 each, were presented to Jasmine Robinson (Bay Shore), Ana Lainez-Pixtun (Wyandanch), Graceann Almonte (Deer Park), Dylan O'Reilly (Sayville), Nadly Agenor (Lindenhurst), Yasmeen Shehata (Dix Hills) and Cosette Yildiz (Kings Park). 

Recipients were chosen for their academic excellence, extracurricular engagement, community service, and compelling essays. Since establishing the partnership five years ago, Suffolk Credit Union has awarded 53 scholarships totaling $238,575. 

“Suffolk Credit Union’s ongoing generosity exemplifies their dedication to education and community empowerment,” said Dr. Edward Bonahue, President of Suffolk County Community College. “Their support helps our students reach new milestones and strengthens the foundation of our college community.”
