Exciting changes are coming for your Suffolk Credit Union Mastercard® Credit Card!

Suffolk Credit Union is excited to announce some new features and benefits coming soon to your Mastercard® credit card. To make these upgrades possible, there will be some changes to your credit card account.

All current cardholders will receive a new credit card with a new card number. If you have a joint account, each cardholder and authorized user will now receive a card with a unique number for security purposes. Please make note of the information and key dates that are included in this letter for a seamless transition.

Key Dates

October 28th: New cards will be mailed to all cardholders. If you have not received your new card by November 11th, please contact us via chat, secure message in online banking or by calling 631-924-8000.

KEEP THIS CARD IN A SAFE LOCATION. While you will receive your new card during this timeframe, it cannot be activated until November 11, 2024.

November 11th: Activate your new credit card and begin using it. DESTROY YOUR OLD SUFFOLK CARD.

To activate your card:

• Call the number on the sticker from the primary phone number on your account.

• Be prepared to answer a few security questions based on the primary cardholder’s information.

• Select a PIN if you plan on making cash withdrawals.

• Destroy your old Suffolk Credit Union Mastercard® credit card. It will no longer work after November 11, 2024.

• Reestablish any automatic bill payments with merchants.

• Add your new Suffolk Credit Union Mastercard® credit card to your mobile wallet. Update your mobile wallet with your new Suffolk Credit Union Mastercard® credit card information once you activate your new card* for continued quick, easy, and secure checkout.

*Please note: Mobile wallet may be unavailable for up to a month after activating your new card. During this time, please use your physical card to make payments

Your existing card will be deactivated at 12:01 a.m. EDT on November 11, 2024, and you will no longer be able to use it.

You must activate your new card on or after November 11, 2024, in order to use your new Suffolk Credit Union Mastercard® credit card.

Other Important Information

Paper Statements– Statements will automatically be mailed to your billing address. They will also be available to view in Card Controls via online banking after the close of your first billing period with the new card.

e-Statement History– After the credit card upgrade, your statements prior to November 11, 2024, will no longer be available online or in the app. Please download any statements by November 8, 2024.

e-Statements– If you wish to receive an e-statement you will need to enroll through Card Controls.

Payment Address– The payment address is changing. If you mail your credit card payment, please note the new payment address: Suffolk Credit Union, P.O. Box 2711, Omaha, NE 68103-2711. If you have your payment sent electronically from a non-Suffolk Credit Union financial bill pay system, please be sure to update the card number and mailing address.

Automatic Payments– If you make your monthly credit card payment via automatic payments that you set up in online banking, you may need to reset that automatic payment.

Recurring Merchant Payments– If you use your credit card to automatically pay recurring bills (i.e., electric, insurance, cable) or recurring subscription accounts (Amazon, EZPass, gym memberships, etc.), please be sure to update your account with your new credit card information after you activate your new card.

Card Alerts– Existing credit card alerts will not transfer to your new card. Once you activate your new credit card, please re-establish alerts for that card using Card Controls.

New Card Features:

Your new Mastercard® comes with new features and benefits, which you can find enclosed. These replace your existing card features and benefits. Below are other features of your new card:

  • 24/7 Cardholder Services: You can now contact cardholder services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by calling 1-866-691-4725 (toll free U.S.) for balance inquiries, payment information, transaction history, statement requests, to dispute a charge, and to report fraud.
  • Card Controls: Your new card offers new credit card controls, including turning your card on and off, setting spending alerts, setting a travel plan, managing your PIN, reporting your card lost or stolen, and requesting a replacement card.
  • Spending Insights: Gain insights into your spending habits, prohibit transactions from certain businesses, and view the merchant’s location, address, and phone number for each transaction.
  • Streamlined Digital Experience: Enjoy an improved online experience where you can find real-time credit card information, including transactions, pending activity, payment information, statements, and custom alerts.
  • EMV Chip and Contactless Transactions – Your new card will include the latest chip technology including support for contactless transactions. 

 

Frequently asked questions.

Suffolk Credit Union is changing the credit card processor to better serve your credit card needs. This change requires that a new card be issued.

No. Your interest rate and other terms on your account will not be changing. 

You will no longer receive a PIN in the mail, and your old PIN will not work with the new card. You can select your unique PIN by calling the number on the activation label and choosing the PIN option. 

No. Your existing card will not work after 12:01am 11/11/2024. Instructions will come with your new card to ensure it is ready to use on or after 11/11/2024. 

EMV stands for Europay, Mastercard® and Visa®. EMV chip technology is becoming the global standard for credit card and debit card payments. This smart chip technology features credit cards with embedded chips that will help increase security and reduce fraud. This standard has many names worldwide and may also be referred to as: "chip and signature." 

Yes. Your card will be accepted at all merchant locations. 

Yes. As a security feature, all cards being issued with this conversion will have a unique number and will arrive separately. However, you will continue to receive only one bill, regardless of the number of cards on the account. 

To ensure there is no interruption in recurring or preauthorized payments (such as monthly telephone, electricity, gas bills, insurance, clubs, etc.), contact the merchant immediately upon receiving your new card number and expiration date. 

No. Your due date will stay the same. 

Yes. The new address will be included on the statement. If you pay this bill through online bill payment, you will need to update the mailing address to P.O. Box 2711, Omaha, NE 68103-2711 on or after November 11th,2024 to ensure that your payment reaches the processor by your due date. 

To ensure there is no interruption in automated payments, contact the provider of this service (i.e., another bank or bill pay service) immediately upon receiving your new card to provide your new card number and payment address of P.O. Box 2711 Omaha, NE 68103-2711. 

You will not be able to access statements/history online after November 11th, 2024, so we recommend you save the statements to your computer or print hard copies before this date.
