Suffolk Credit Union was proud to support the 2024 Turkeys for Vets Thanksgiving turkey distribution, an annual community event organized and hosted by the Sayville Community Ambulance Company, dedicated to honoring military service members, veterans, and their families.
Held each year in advance of Thanksgiving, the Turkeys for Vets event has become a meaningful tradition in the Sayville community. This year’s distribution once again brought together local organizations, volunteers, and supporters to provide hundreds of free turkeys and holiday fixings to veterans and active-duty military families as a heartfelt thank-you for their service.
The 2024 event took place in West Sayville, where cars lined up early as volunteers worked efficiently to distribute meals to eligible participants. Suffolk Credit Union team members were honored to volunteer alongside Sayville Community Ambulance Company and other community partners to help ensure the success of this longstanding annual initiative.
The distribution was open to military personnel, veterans, and their families regardless of need, with each household receiving a Thanksgiving turkey and holiday essentials while supplies lasted.
